Earlier in May, Hog Roast Goonhavern was hired to cater for a joint birthday and 25th wedding anniversary. Leslie and her husband Peter chose to host a wonderful celebration at their home in Truro, surrounded by 100 of their friends and family. Their home was the ideal venue for the event as they live on a beautiful farm, and the May weather made this the perfect place for a party! Our catering manager Paul was contacted by Leslie to arrange catering for the occasion. The menu needed to be served buffet style on bamboo crockery and cutlery to suit the formality of the evening, as well as include a tasty vegetarian option.

On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Goonhavern team arrived in advance of the 18:00 mealtime, giving ourselves plenty of time to prepare the hog and side dishes. We began by slow roasting the hog and ensuring that it was cooked to perfection before it was expertly carved and served in fresh bread rolls. For meat-free guests, we also served grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers. The main dishes were accompanied by new potatoes, sage and onion stuffing, seasonal salad dishes, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling, creating a delicious and varied menu. There was plenty to go around and something for every guest to enjoy, which was ideal for this celebration!
