This summer, Hog Roast Gweek was hired to provide catering at a local pub based in Cornwall. The pub was planning on hosting its first ever quiz night, so thought that providing a delicious meal would be a great way to bring in more guests and raise awareness of the quiz. The pub has a large beer garden that is filled with picnic benches and umbrellas, making it the ideal location for a quiz in the sunshine. For the catering, our manager Paul was hired to serve a classic hog roast for the guests, including a tasty meat free option.

On the day of the event, Paul and his team arrived at the pub with plenty of time to prepare for the 7:00pm mealtime. The catering was going to be served before and after the quiz, to allow everyone plenty of time to collect their food and take time to eat. We began by slow roasting the hog, as well as grilling a selection of pork and veggie sausages. The mains were served in fresh bread rolls, alongside a gluten-free alternative. For the side dishes, Hog Roast Gweek also served homemade chips, sage and onion stuffing, fresh applesauce, and seasonal salad dishes. Overall, this created a varied menu with something for everyone to enjoy and more than enough to go around. The smell of our catering alone was enough to draw in new customers and the hog roast was a great addition to the event.
