Hog Roast Burras – Wedding Anniversary

We headed off to the countryside on Sunday to cater for a 1st Wedding Anniversary with Hog Roast Burras. The party was being held at the local cricket club and as we drove along the lovely country lanes we were in awe of the fantastic picture post card views they were just breathtaking!

We arrived nice and early and chatted to the couple before hand they said they were very excited to taste our food as they had never tasted hog roast food before. So keen to impress we left the couple to chat amongst friends as we set to work.

We brought with us our largest machines as we were cooking pig and jacket potatoes and the large machine cooks both together. For the fillings of the potatoes we made a variety, caramelised onion with mushrooms, cheese and onion with chives and tuna and sweet corn very simple to make and very tasty the potatoes cook to perfection all are fluffy and light with a crispy skin. To accompany the pork we scored the skin and added handfuls of sea salt to make the perfect crackling and a large batch of our delicious applesauce. A lovely seasonal mixed salad and a large bowl of creamy coleslaw was also made along with a Greek salad. We were catering for 150 and had more than enough Hog Roast Burras food to go around.

When the meat was cooked we first removed the crackling and cut it into slices and carved the pork- the pork was so tender and just melts in the mouth the young couple were flabbergasted and kept saying how amazing the pork and crackling tasted, the potatoes were filled with an array of fillings and the guests thoroughly enjoyed these too within an hour all were fed and happy and all the food gone, nothing gives us more pleasure than seeing all the food go at an event such satisfaction we feel. We left a bundle of our leaflets and lots of the guests picked them up so we are hopeful of one or two orders as we said our good byes the young couple said they would be back for more Hog Roast Burras’ in the future and we can believe that.
