Christmas Fair – Hog Roast Looe

We got caught in a snowstorm mid week heading to cater for Christmas fair with a hog roast Looe. The event is held every year and we have been lucky enough to cater for them the past few years. Upon arrival the snow was starting to get a bit heavy and we quickly unpacked the van and headed into the arcade. The arcade was a sight to see all locals selling their Christmas produce and a lovely atmosphere as always.

We placed the hog roast Looe on our large machine and filled the smaller one with some chicken legs and rows of potatoes. On our side table we then prepared the side dishes such as salads, dips, coleslaw. We then placed pates of sausage rolls, quiche and scotch eggs all baked fresh for the event and a large tray filled with lots of delicious sweet mince pies! We unboxed hundreds of rolls and wraps in every shape and size and we were as always right on schedule. At lunchtime we were ready to serve the shoppers and we had gathered quite a crowd all-eager to take a look at the pig. We removed the crunchy crackling and cut it into slices and handed it around for the shoppers to taste they were all saying how delicious it was and saying they had never tasted anything like it. Everyone watched as our chef carved the pork he shredded the meat and placed it into buns and wraps for the shoppers and they helped them selves to salads and dips. They were telling us that the hog roast Looe was so good quite a few who were regulars at the event were saying that they hoped we would be back again this year. The day seemed to fly and we fed hundreds! Lots came over asking if we had some cards and we handed them out and even at the event we were receiving firm bookings.

The organiser came over and said that he was impressed and he wouldn’t ever use anyone but us and people now expect us there and come especially for us, that did make our day hearing that.
