Engagement Party – Hog Roast Bugle
We provided a hog roast Bugle last week for an Engagement party to an area we hadn’t visited before. We were told the numbers would be between 250 and 300 guests so we brought extra it case it was the latter. We set off early and arrived with time to spare we were catering in the garden of the lovely huge house and brought our huge gazebo in case of rain. We set up the gazebo and unloaded the van and then it was time to cook, we brought with us a pig and were going to make some crackling too. On a smaller machine we placed rows of potatoes that we roasted and as the hog roast Bugle cooked we got on with making the fillings. We made an assortment of fillings- cheese and onion, tuna and sweetcorn and a curry filling we also made a potato salad and a fresh green salad. Lots of rolls and wraps were added to the table along with some cheeses and the feast was set for a king!
As the happy couple arrived they said a few words to the guests and then it was time to eat they were very impressed and in particular with the crackling, we are famous for our crackling and have it down to a fine art with years of practice and perfecting it we say there is none better. Our secret is scoring the skin and adding the handfuls of sea salt at the correct time and that produces the finest crackling the pork was just amazing full of juices so tender and just cuts like butter, the guests were commenting saying the meat just melts in the mouth and if we had a pound for every time we have been told that over the years we would be retired now! The day went really well and the couple thanked us for all the hard work and for the delicious hog roast Bugle and said they would most definitely be using us again that made us smile and we look forward to coming back for more events like we do now with our list of loyal customers.
