Engagement Party – Hog Roast Leedstown

Hog Roast Leedstown catered Dave and Joan’s engagement party over the weekend, cooking a fantastic Hog Roast Leedstown feast for their 45 guests, as well as providing additional dietary options for some more guests. When you’re looking for a caterer for your special occasion, you need to know that even the smallest of details are in good hands, and that includes offering more choices for those guests who may not want to or be able to eat the main food everyone else is enjoying.

When they booked us in, Dave and Joan asked if we could also bring along a vegetarian option, a vegan option and a gluten-free option. We have vast experience dealing with such requests over many years, and we offer a variety of choices for these, too. In this case, we could provide one single option of a tomato risotto that would be suitable for both the vegetarian and vegan guests, and the couple were surprised to find out that the gluten-free guest could enjoy pretty much the same pigs in buns as everyone else, just with their own bread rolls.

We arrived bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at the lovely hotel venue on Saturday, while most people were still fast asleep. A medium-sized Hog Roast Leedstown can take 5 or 6 hours of clear cooking and it takes a bit longer in the winter months, so we set up our equipment and cracked on, with a lunchtime service in mind. Firstly, that meant setting up the marquee tent in the hotel gardens, as it was due to rain and Dave and Joan preferably wanted their guests to remain dry! Once that was done, we prepared the meat from fresh and set the machine going.

Several hours later and we were congratulating Dave and Joan and greeting their guests with the tantalising smells coming from our slow-roasted hog. The veggie option was served to some of the guests and then our team began to slice off the delicious pork crackling and slice into the meat to fill trays with piping hot pieces of goodness. We added pieces of both to fresh bread rolls together with our tasty, homemade apple sauce and stuffing and watched as guest after guest enjoyed our tasty food, with some returning again and again for more.
