Hog Roast Fowey for a Wild West Themed Office Party!
It was more hog roast at dawn than pistols at dawn for us this week, when we were up bright and early to get the preparations underway for a company’s wild west themed party to celebrate their 20th anniversary of being in business! Fittingly, the company had hired a converted barn for the event and decorated it with various Wild West memorabilia. Even more fittingly, they chose Hog Roast Fowey to do the catering for their big hoedown because they wanted a classy corporate menu served in a relaxed style, befitting to the boisterous theme. We had the perfect option for them; our Southern-style slow roasted menu, still cooked using our tried and tested methods, but with the addition of our own secret blend of herbs and spices to infuse the meat with an unrivaled depth of flavour. Accompanied by our Memphis style ‘slaw, Cajun-spiced potato wedges and Mac n Cheese-all homemade by Hog Roast Fowey- the company directors agreed our menus options could not have been better for their Wild West theme!
After spending a pleasant day in the barn slowly roasting the marinated meats and freshly preparing the All -American accompaniments, we knew the atmosphere was suddenly about to get a lot rowdier as the employees (sorry the cowboys!) started to arrive, all embracing the theme and arriving in full costume. Just in case their Stetsons and cowboy boots weren’t enough to get them into character, the smell of our Southern-style, long and slow cooked meat certainly was! The barn was soon filled with a cacophony of ‘yeehaas’ as the wild bunch moseyed on over to the serving table! Everyone was too busy tucking in to the food to start any brawls or challenge any of their colleagues to a duel, which was probably a good thing since their boss was there! Having always been a massive Clint Eastwood fan, the MD seemed to get into the swing of things most of all and told us he couldn’t have managed to pull off such a fun and authentic theme party without the Hog Roast Fowey team being his deputies for the day and providing such a fitting feast!
