After an incredibly busy and successful year, the MD of a local marketing company decided their 50 staff members deserved a treat, so when they were planning their annual company picnic, they decided to ditch their usual cold sandwiches and soggy salads and hired Hog Roast Lizard instead to provide one of our classy corporate buffets!
This decision understandably went down very well with the employees, especially when the director’s PA emailed out the menu choices for the day! Apparently everyone’s mouths were already watering when they saw the treat that awaited them, including tiger prawn, Peking duck and mini pizza canapes, our signature slow roasted pork for the main, along with vegetable skewers and our homemade quiche as the meat-free options, all served with a delicious medley of Mediterranean salad, creamy coleslaw, couscous and potato wedges, finished off with a choice of 2 tempting desserts- a zesty lemon tart or strawberries with passion fruit crème!
Whilst everyone was still sitting at their desks with rumbling stomachs, we were at the venue preparing the company’s alfresco lunch ready for service at 1pm. By 12.30 all of the 50 employees had arrived and were being treated to a stylish start to their lunch with our scrumptious selection of canapes! With a buzz of excitement in the air, all work-related talk suddenly stopped as they watched Hog Roast Lizard’s chef expertly carving the tender pork, whilst her trusty catering assistant was artistically presenting the side dishes and vegetarian options that he had spent the morning painstakingly preparing!
The sun was shining on the happy workforce as they tucked into our beautiful buffet that was very far removed from the usual paltry picnic fare they had been subjected to for far too long! It was indeed a sumptuous summer spread and a worthy reward for everyone’s hard work throughout the year! After the desserts had been served (which everyone valiantly managed to polish off!), the MD made a speech thanking his staff for their commitment and as an incentive to keep up the good work, he promised to ask Hog Roast Lizard to come back again to cater for next year’s company picnic, which was met with a very enthusiastic round of applause from every one of his employees!
