It’s been a long, hot and very busy summer for the team at Hog Roast Saltash. With the good weather comes BBQs and it seems as though every weekend and even some week days our chefs have been asked to create the perfect summer barbie!
This weekend was no different as we were catering for Kat and Chris’ family BBQ. The couple explained to us over the phone that amongst their friends everyone had been hosting BBQs this summer and it had turned into a bit of a rivalry of who could serve the best sausages or who had the most impressive spread of food. Chris readily admitted he wasn’t much of a chef but still wanted to outdo his friends which is where we at Hog Roast Saltash came in!
For the ultimate summer Hog Roast Saltash BBQ we prepared our finest butchers selection sausages and homemade burgers with our chefs own burger relish. We had corn on the cobs slathered in butter and made halloumi skewers and vegetable kebabs to impress Chris’ vegetarian friends. We dint disappoint with our salad selection as we prepared on site a tomato and mozzarella salad and a traditional green leaf salad for extra measure. Of course, this was a Hog Roast Saltash BBQ so there had to be a slow roasted meat in there too, so we prepared a small pig for all the guests to sample. Once all the guests arrived they couldn’t believe their eyes! As Chris was known for his lack of culinary skills some of his friends has prepared side dishes as a friendly gesture but they soon saw there was no need as our team had provided more than enough food and there was something for everyone.
It’s safe to say Kat and Chris’s BBQ went down a storm and their friends eagerly thanked them and us for such an amazing day. We had some of the guests asking for details on how they could host their own Hog Roast with the quote of the afternoon being “who knew a BBQ could be THIS good?!”. Chris has agreed that next time he hosts a BBQ he is going to attempt to cook the food himself however he said the only way he would is when he hires one of our machines to do the work for him!
