This January, Hog Roast Callington was hired to cater for the grand opening of a local community centre. The centre had previously been an unused building and the last few months of 2022 were used to renovate and redecorate the building to make it fit for use as a community hub. The centre will now be used for clubs and activities for people of all ages, as well as having a small kitchen and toilet facilities. This will make it a great addition to the town, so it made sense to host a grand opening event to showcase the new facilities. Hog Roast Callington was hired to provide a classic hog roast for the guests to enjoy, alongside a meat-free and gluten-free dish. This will ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy and plenty to go around for the 200 guests.

On the day of the event, the Hog Roast Callington team arrived in advance of the 2:00 pm mealtime and began preparing the dishes. For the mains, we prepared a slow-roasted hog, alongside pork sausages, and meat-free sausages. These dishes were served in fresh bread rolls or a gluten-free alternative, accompanied by sage and onion stuffing, homemade applesauce, and crispy crackling. As well as the mains, we also served homemade chips and a selection of salad dishes to create a varied and nutritious lunch.
