Corporate Hog Roast Porthcothan For A Team Building Day
Company gatherings aren’t always necessarily drawn-out, tedious affairs full of long speeches about facts and figures and death by power-point. Team building days are becoming increasingly popular with businesses today, allowing employees to escape from the formal confines of the office and swap their suits for commando gear to complete obstacles courses, solve puzzles and work together to achieve a common goal, whilst having some fun in the process. This is exactly the kind of alternative company event Hog Roast Porthcothan were asked to cater for last week at an outdoor adventure centre for 80 office staff.
In keeping with the fun, informal tone of the day, the event organisers wanted an equally fun, informal feast to feed their hungry employees after they had spent the day out in the fresh air working up an appetite. As our clients discovered when we talked them through our menu options, corporate catering doesn’t have to be a formal, 3-course sit down meal (although we can of course provide this type of menu if that’s the kind of experience you want.) They were impressed with Hog Roast Porthcothan’s range of more laid-back buffet options that fitted their requirements perfectly.
So whilst the intrepid officer workers were dangling from zip wires and getting covered in mud, our own plucky adventurers were busy with the preparations for their well-deserved hog roast buffet. We arrived at the centre at the same time as the guests, to allow ample time for the hog to roast slowly throughout their action-packed day, ensuring maximum flavour, melt in the mouth meat and crispy crackling with the perfect crunch by the time they were ready to eat. The catering assistants weren’t resting on their laurels whilst the chef was working his magic though. As we prepare everything from scratch on site, they were busy whipping up our creamy coleslaw and classic Caesar salad to accompany the hog roast, working as an efficient unit themselves to bring everything together for the hearty spread.
As the victorious troops arrived from the battlefield, the air was filled with ‘oooohs’ and ‘ahhhhhhs’ when they saw the enticing feast that awaited them and they wasted no time in getting stuck in. With the relaxed layout, there was no standing on ceremony or waiting for the boss to give them the go-ahead, which is exactly what their commander in chief wanted. A fun-filled day with fabulous food courteous of Hog Roast Porthcothan was the perfect antidote to spreadsheet fatigue, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and it’s back to the office tomorrow, sorry guys!
