Hog Roast Callington Handled A Vow Renewal!

Here at Hog Roast Callington, we love a wedding as much as the next person. In fact, we’d put them right up there amongst our favourite types of events to cater for! But there’s something about vow renewals that just can’t be compared to. Seeing a couple that’s still head over heels for each other after so many years makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, and because these events don’t happen all that often, we always get so excited whenever we are asked to cater for these heart warming affairs.

So, it was lucky for us that Beth and Derek had chosen Hog Roast Callington to cater for their vow renewals, which went ahead last Saturday – 30 years to the day of their original wedding! Celebrating their pearl anniversary and their vow renewal on the same day made the experience even more special for the pair, who had invited 55 of their closest friends and family members to join them in commemorating the occasion.

Throwing it back to their original wedding, Beth and Derek had revived their original playlist, which had the guests up on the dance floor all night long. That was the ‘something old’, but every bride needs something new, and so, as a subtle nod to the couple’s three decades of marriage, Beth’s dress had been embellished with pearls.

Hog Roast CallingtonAs for the theme, the couple had opted for a rustic setting for their big day, and for this our Southern Slow Roast Menu was ideal. Offering the guests a choice of three expertly roasted meat options, a vegan-friendly alternative and four tantalising sides, there was something on the menu that was suited to everyone’s tastes. And, because no party is complete without a tasty pudding, the couple had picked out two of Hog Roast Callington’s most popular dessert options for after the meal.

Once again, our team blew it out of the water with this American-inspired feast, which consisted of Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, fall off the bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs, Texan 24 hour beef brisket, and BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls with Memphis style crunchy coleslaw, salads, mac and cheese and mixed fries. The guests couldn’t stop complimenting the food, and after polishing off several helpings, they were happy to wind down the evening with tasty profiteroles or individual portions of cheesecake.
