The Hog Roast Padstow team got our groove on last weekend when we were asked to cater for a Motown themed 70th birthday party! The birthday girl Pat still liked to have a boogie to her favourite songs whenever she could, so her family decided to help her celebrate her milestone birthday by throwing her a party and hiring a band to treat her to some Motown classics! They also wanted the food to be exciting, whilst also being varied enough to please three generations of the family, and they decided that Hog Roast Padstow fitted the bill!
They chose one of our sociable buffets, which included some of our signature slow-roasted pork, and tangy feta skewers for the 2 vegetarian members of the family, along with some of our homemade creamy coleslaw, classic Caesar salad and warm, buttery new potatoes.
We had no problem setting up our compact, yet super-efficient roasting machine in our designated cooking area at the venue, and whilst the family were decorating the room and the band were getting ready, we spent several hours diligently preparing all of the menu from scratch whilst the meat was cooking. Those who were already at the venue kept getting distracted by the smell of the pork as it slowly roasted, and they couldn’t wait to try it!
When Pat arrived, she could barely contain her excitement as the band tuned up and she when she saw our freshly prepared and inviting buffet also waiting for her, she didn’t know what to do first-hit the dancefloor or visit our serving table!
Our friendly catering team kept everyone’s plates full throughout the evening and we thoroughly enjoyed being part of such a fun and upbeat birthday party! Pat loved every minute of it and managed to have a second helping of our succulent slow-roasted pork in between dancing to her favourite Motown tunes!
It was a lovely family occasion and the ideal birthday celebration for Pat’s 70th and the Hog Roast Padstow team were glad we had been able to make our own contribution to the festivities with our flavoursome birthday buffet!
